The doors to a french period room - the Salon Doré |
Salon Doré from the Hôtel de La Trémoille is currently on exhibition at the Legion of Honor (FAMSF). For 18 months, from 2012 - 2014, it was closed and deinstalled for a huge conservation project involving the cleaning, stabilization, reshaping and renovation of the room.
The Salon is originally a french neoclassical interior, composed of over 120 objects. It was designed during the reign of Louis XVI as the main Salon de Compagnie - a receiving room for guests of the Hôtel de La Trémoille on the Rue Saint-Dominique in Paris.
